The final report on the incident in which a cell phone was allegedly found in an interview room at a police station is nearing closure.
It was reported that an attorney was with a suspect and during the interview a phone taped under a table fell to the floor.
CBC News was informed by the Commissioner of Police Richard Boyce that the file will soon be on his desk because the investigator has submitted the file to his superior officer and thereafter it will come to him.
Commissioner Boyce indicated that before any findings can be revealed to the media he has to peruse the file and inform other relevant parties.
The Bar Association on April 5 had complained about the time taken to check the matter and also about the Police Service investigating itself.
A check with the Association said they have not received any formal or verbal information to date about the matter.
