Former Commissioner of Police, Grantley Watson, has died.
Watson served as the head of the then Royal Barbados Police Force, now Barbados Police Service, from 1995-2003. He was also the Executive Director of the Regional Security System (RSS), until he retired from the post in 2017.
Public Affairs and Communication Officer with the Service, Inspector Rodney Inniss, confirmed that “he passed away after 7 p.m. on Saturday 3 February 2024 at his residence surrounded by family members.”
“He is survived by his wife Janet Watson and his daughter Tricia Watson.”
Inniss added that “sincere condolences go out to his family from Commissioner Richard Boyce the senior administration and the rank and file of the Barbados Police Service.”
