Government has been able to increase the capacity of the Harrison’s Point facility.
Contractors handed over the new Intensive Care Unit after a week and a half of work, to Isolation Facilities Manager, Dr. Corey Forde.
The unit has been increased from 38 to 42 beds and began receiving seriously ill patients on Saturday.
Dr. Forde explained it is a game-changer for COVID patients as oxygen can be piped directly from the machine that creates it to the beds.
