Barbados’ Special Envoy to the Prime Minister on Investment and Financial Services Professor Avinash Persaud wants barriers that impede countries from advancing towards low carbon economies broken.
He suggests a significant sum of the funds countries require for the green transformation, can be sourced from private sector investments and other sources.
Professor Persaud’s comments came during a press conference on innovative sources of finance for loss and damage, hosted by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
