58 year old Leroy Fitzgerald Brathwaite of Wanstead Heights, St. James has been arrested and is due to appear in court today in connection with a number of charges for counterfeit items.
The items were discovered after a search warrant was executed at his store last year by police officers from the Financial Crimes Investigations Asset Recovery Unit.
They discovered a large quantity of goods which were suspected to be counterfeit, which included Nike, Jordan, Louis Vuitton and Puma.
The items were seized and kept in police custody.
Brathwaite was arrested last Thursday and formally charged with the unauthorized use of trademark Nike, possession of goods bearing unauthorized trademark Nike, unauthorized use of trademark Puma, possession of goods bearing the trademark Puma, unauthorized use of trademark Louis Vuitton and possession of goods bearing the trademark Louis Vuitton.
He is also charged with unauthorized use of trademark Jordan and possession of goods bearing the trademark Jordan.
