Barbados and the region have been told there is need for new approaches to boost energy transition in the Caribbean.
Joseph Cox Assistant Secretary General, Economic Integration, Innovation and Development at the CARICOM Secretariat in sharing the advice suggested renewable energy progress has been organic and not accelerated.
He was at the time addressing the opening of the 8th Caribbean Sustainable Energy Forum in Jamaica.
The forum held under the theme ‘Powering Transport’ connects with key national, regional, and international energy stakeholders who share the goal of accelerating CARICOM’s sustainable energy transition.
Mr. Cox also called attention to challenges faced in the European Union which is on the defensive against tide of Chinese electric vehicles.
