The first Africa-CARICOM Heads of Government Summit is on today.
The virtual conference will see CARICOM and African leaders coming together to discuss issues of mutual interest.
Barbados Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong says one of the major outcomes he is hoping for is a weekly direct flight between an African country and the region.
Ambassador Comissiong is also hoping a link can be established between the CARICOM Single Market and Economy and the African Continental Free Trade Area.
He believes access to Africa’s market of more than a billion people could create new opportunities for regional entrepreneurs.
