There’s a new vision for Speightstown, Holetown, Oistins and a number of other developing areas under Government’s Physical Development Plan.
Senior Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. William Duguid outlined some of the proposed changes during Debate in the Lower House.
Dr. Duguid says plans for Holetown build on previous policies for the area and respond to the current physical conditions.
He adds Speightstown will become a unique tourist destination and model for the blue and green economy.
Mr. Duguid says significant development has been taking place recently outside of st. Michael.
According to him, figures show the parish has lost nine percent of its population over the past 20 years.
