Barbados has received a large donation of equipment and supplies from PAHO/WHO for use at the various medical sites involved in the COVID-19 fight.
Speaking at the handover at PAHO’s Barbados office at Dayrell’s Road, Christ Church, Health Minister Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic thanked the organisation for the donation and other assistance rendered.
Meanwhile, the Barbados and Eastern Caribbean Representative for PAHO/WHO Dr. Yitades Gebre says 7.2 billion doses of vaccines have been given the world over.
He says they expect an acceleration of COVAX vaccines in the coming weeks, to continue to scale up operations in all groups, especially the vulnerable.
Dr. Gebre added that technical cooperation would also continue to support Barbados in the COVID battle.
