Minister of Agriculture, Food and Nutritional Security Indar Weir intends to meet with the top brass of the Barbados Police Service in a bid to tighten loopholes for praedial larceny.
This he says will be another step to strengthen the system, following recent legislative changes that increased the penalties for crop thieves to between 10 and 100 thousand dollars.
And even as officials plan to meet, the Agricultural Minister stresses that the general public has a role to play stamp out praedial larceny.
