The Barbados Water Authority is working to address the burst mains situation across the island.
Director of Engineering Charles Leslie says the network is aged with some 2,500 kilometres of mains from three to 21 inches in diameter.
He was speaking CBC TV8’s The People’s Business
Mr. Leslie adds burst mains result in revenue loss but plans are in the works to reduce their frequency.
