Chief Fisheries Officer Dr. Shelly-Ann Cox is pleased with boat owners’ response to Government’s Commercial Fishing Vessel Remarking Exercise.
Dr. Cox told CBC News since the exercise was launched on January 15, boat owners have been making arrangements to have their vessels remarked even before the due date for their mandatory inspections.
Dr. Cox says while recent checks have identified one thousand one hundred and sixty-three registered boats, all of them are not active.
