The National Independence Festival of Creative Arts, NIFCA after a two-year hiatus and an abridged staging in 2022 is back in full swing and the National Cultural Foundation is pleased with the response to this year’s edition.

The application process is currently closed off for all but one of the categories.

Chief Cultural Officer with the National Cultural Foundation, Andrea Wells is telling writing enthusiasts they have until October 30th as the adult category of literary arts remains open.

The 50th anniversary of the NIFCA was launched recently in Queen’s Park in Bridgetown.

This year’s festival calendar is packed with several events.

The performing arts gala concludes the festival on November 26th.

Ms. Wells says the gala showcases the finest Barbadian talent.

NIFCA this year will also be honouring several new icons through a series of murals.
