Police seek help identifying victim after unnatural death in St. Philip

The Barbados Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the victim of an unnatural death which occurred on Thursday evening.

The man was discovered slumped in the driver’s seat of a white Mazda motor car bearing “P” registration number plates, at Castle Heights at its junction with Eastbourne Main Road, St. Philip. This is after reports that several loud gunshots were heard before a car travelling along the road ran off the carriageway, striking some shrubbery in front of a residence around 9:50 pm.

Police noted in a statement that they are yet to formally identify the deceased in this incident, as they believe “that the immediate family, relatives or friends of this man may not be aware as yet that he is missing”.

“This is a young male who appears to be in his 20s, he was driving a white Mazda motor car bearing P Registration number plates

“Anyone who thinks they may be able to identify this individual can do so by contacting the District C Police Station 416-8200 or Oistins Police Station 418-2612. To make arrangements to view his body”.

They also urged the public to assist with any information they may have:

“Similarly, we are appealing to the general public for any information regarding this matter; if you have witnessed or have knowledge of this incident or its occurrence please contact the said Police Stations or Police Emergency at 211 or Crime Stoppers at 1 800 8477 (TIPS).

“All information will be treated with strict confidentiality”.
