Despite the notion the education system has served Barbados well, Government Senator Andwele Boyce suggests the same cannot be said for persons with disabilities.
He believes that segregation limits opportunities.
Senator Boyce is, however, pleased with efforts made by Government, some outlined in the recent budget, stating it intends to do better for persons with disabilities.
Also of concern for him, is the lack of employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.
Senator Boyce acknowledges a fully accessible Barbados cannot happen in the blink of an eye but it is work the Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs has committed to.
