It would be a smoother ride for motorists travelling on River Road in The City, as road work under the Ministry of Transport and Works’ Accelerated Mill and Pave Programme will begin tonight.
Infra Construction Inc. is scheduled to start milling a section of the road from 7:30 p.m. until 6:30 a.m.
After the surface layer of asphalt is removed, the road will be paved.
Therefore River Road will be closed at Wellington Street as roadwork is expected to continue for the next four nights
All traffic will be directed onto Wellington Street and turn right onto Nelson Street before re-joining River Road.
The Ministry says John Beckles Road will also be closed at the intersection of Constitution Road towards River Road, allowing only vehicular traffic to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
