Soroptimists securing environment for future generations

September 9, 2023

Soroptimist Clubs in Barbados continue to play a role in securing the environment for future generations.

Several initiatives have been undertaken as the group recognises the importance of the land and the contribution of trees.

The latest was at the National Botanical Gardens, where three fruit trees were planted by the visiting President of Soroptimist International of Great Britain and Ireland Catherine Cottridge and local Soroptimist sisters.

Programme Action Manager with Soroptimist International of Jamestown, Barbara Taylor says their projects have taken them from the north to the south of the island.

Meanwhile, Ms. Cottridge says since 1921 the tree planting initiative has grown.
