Traffic management changes for Oistins Fish Festival

The Barbados Police Service is advising the public of traffic management arrangements which will be put in place to facilitate the Oistins Fish Festival.

From today till Monday, April 1 Oistins Road from its junction with Keizer Hill to Welches Road junction and Cane Vale Hill will be closed from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The police would like the public to be aware of the following traffic management changes:

-Traffic travelling east along Maxwell Main Road, Christ Church towards Oistins will not be permitted beyond its junction with Canevale Road, Christ Church.

-All vehicular traffic except for public service vehicles (PSVs) will be diverted at the Canevale Road junction.

-Traffic travelling west towards Oistins via Thornbury Hill Road will be diverted at its junction with Pegwell Boggs Road.

-Only PSVs will be permitted to travel along the regular route through Oistins.

-Traffic travelling towards Oistins via Oistins Hill will be for local access only and Oistins car park or the Service Station will not be allowed free access onto Oistins main road; exits will be via the same route along Oistins Hill.

-Traffic travelling along Enterprise Main Road will be diverted at the junction of Oistins Main Road onto Pegwell Main Road.

-Only PSVs will be allowed access to Oistin Main Road.

From today till Monday, April 1, no parking will be permitted on Keizer Hill, Oistins Hill, Thornbury Hill, Church Hill, Cane Vale Road, Maxwell Main Road, Welches Road and Pegwell Road, except to pick up or set down passengers.

However, the police say parking will be provided in the public car park north of Granny’s, and Christ Church Foundation School.

The Service urges the public to adhere to the instructions provided by on-duty officers who will be overseeing traffic control.
