Barbadian Soca Queen Allison Hinds and Business Executive Trisha Tannis are among the 14 eminent people on whom the University of the West Indies will confer honorary degrees.
They will be recognised for their distinguished contribution in their various fields during UWI’s upcoming class of 2023 graduation ceremonies, starting October 7.
The Cave Hill Campus come October 21st will recognise three individuals.
Aside from Hinds and Tannis, Biochemist, Ian Hickling will also receive an honorary degree.
Jamaican Reggae Icon, Beres Hammond has been named among the five to be honoured by the Mona campus come November 3rd to 4th.
The St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad and Tobago will honor three people and the Global Campus, two.
