Barbadians are being told that generally warm conditions are expected to persist through the week and into the weekend.
This from the Barbados Meteorological Services, which is closely monitoring the progress of a tropical wave, associated with an area of low pressure located near 12N 44W, or about 1650 km or 1025 miles east of the island.
The system is currently moving west to west-northwestward across the central Atlantic and on its current track is expected to pass well north of Barbados.
Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for the slow development of this system and a tropical depression could form in the coming days, likely causing the persistence of light winds and warm conditions across the region.
The BMS says there are no watches or warnings in effect for Barbados and the next update will be issued at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow.
