Economist, Professor Justin Robinson says news inflation is coming down is welcomed as the International Monetary Fund moderately increases its 2023 global growth forecast.
The IMF, in its latest World Economic Outlook raised its global economic growth projection for 2023 to 3.0%, up 0.2 percentage point from its April forecast.
For 2024, the IMF estimated global growth at 3.0% in light of policy tightening by major central banks to curb inflation.
It forecasts global headline inflation would fall to 6.8% in 2023.
According to Professor Robinson, inflation is falling faster than expected.
Professor Robinson was a guest on CBC TV8s Morning Report.
He is telling Barbadians not to expect any immediate fall in prices with the fall in inflation.
