The Alliance Owners of Public Transport have zero tolerance for lewd and loud music.
The AOPT deem it unacceptable for any paying passenger to be told to get off the bus if they complain about the music or the speed.
Speaking on The People’s Business last night on CBC TV8, where the topic was ‘Public Transport: State of the Sector’, Craig Banfield director of the organisation’s complaints and legal affairs, says this is one of the top issues he receives phone calls about.
The issue of how the complaints against the drivers are handled was raised, since a number of PSV workers with infractions move freely from one owner to the other without penalty, especially those who get high passenger volumes.
He believes a database is necessary.
