CMC (The Bahamas) – Search and rescue teams are searching for a Piper aircraft with a United States registration number reported missing after losing contact with the air traffic control.
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority (AAIA) said it had received notification that a Piper PA32 aircraft with United States registration N9253M did not reach its intended destination of Stella Maris, Long Island, just after noon (local time) on Friday.
The authorities have given no details regarding the number of people on the aircraft but said that the United States Coast Guard along with the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and Royal Bahamas Police Force are involved in the search for the aircraft.
