The first quarterfinal of the Barbados Road Tennis Open served up some exciting match-ups at the Wildey Gymnasium.
In the ladies’ section Marvalene Neblett defeated Gail-Ann Edwards 21-18, 21-14, while last year’s losing finalist Sheldene Walrond got the better of young Kezia Blunt 21-9, 21-8.
On the men’s side, it was also very competitive as Davian ‘Force Ripe’ Taylor and Defending Champion Mark ‘Venon’ Griffith advanced to the semis: 16-21, 25-23, 21-19.
