B’dos Road Tennis Open quarterfinal completed

The first quarterfinal of the Barbados Road Tennis Open served up some exciting match-ups at the Wildey Gymnasium.

In the ladies’ section Marvalene Neblett defeated Gail-Ann Edwards 21-18, 21-14, while last year’s losing finalist Sheldene Walrond got the better of young Kezia Blunt 21-9, 21-8.

On the men’s side, it was also very competitive as Davian ‘Force Ripe’ Taylor and Defending Champion Mark ‘Venon’ Griffith advanced to the semis: 16-21, 25-23, 21-19.

Defending Champion Kim Holder defeated Jelesa Holder Vaughn in both games: 21-2, 21-12.

Maudlyn Blunt was victorious against Angela Burrowes: 21-16, 21-10.

Shakeem Nurse walked away with the win against Mosai Williams: 21-17, 21-13.

Antonio ‘Lil Man’ Daniel and Darius ‘Baracus’ Gaskin played 3 games before Daniel finally emerged victorious: 21-12, 20-21, 21-17.
