Local swim duo heading to World Aquatics Championships

Barbadian and two-time Olympia, Alex Sobers, and national record holder, Luis-Sebastian Weekes, are heading to the World Aquatics Championships to be contested in Qatar, Doha.

The Aquatic Championships will showcase the best in the world taking part in a number of aquatic disciplines from February 2-18 with the swimming competition set to begin on February 11.

Weekes a national record holder in the 50 m breaststroke will be the first up for Barbados in the 100 meters of that event Weekes on the opening day of competition and then 200 metre breaststroke on February 15.

Meanwhile, two-time Olympian Sobers will swim his first event the 200m freestyle on February 12 and the 100m free on the 14th.

The swim duo will be accompanied by seasoned national swim coach Aisha Norville and is set to depart for Doha this coming Thursday.
