No longer headline news

COVID-19 should no longer be seen as headline or front page news.

That’s the view of the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. The Most Honourable Kenneth George.

He says Barbadians now need to concentrate more on personal responsibility – which includes being vaccinated and boosted – to be better protected against the virus.

Dr. George is confident the Ministry of Health and Wellness has done its part, ensuring the public has all relevant information about COVID-19 during the ongoing pandemic.

The C.M.O. says if there are covid outbreaks, like the recent ones publicised about the construction site in St. Philip and at the Psychiatric Hospital, the Ministry will keep the public informed.

Other than that, he believes the COVID-19 dashboard and similar messaging has become irrelevant for public consumption.
