Return of summer cruise business

It was a Crop Over-like atmosphere at the Bridgetown Port this morning.

The festivities were over the arrival of the Disney Magic cruise ship.

While it’s not the ship’s inaugural visit, it’s significant because it represents a return of summer cruise business, which had been absent for the past two years.

This tour bus driver and some of the cruise passengers are understandably happy.

The vessel, which is carrying over 2400 passengers is making its final port call today before the 7 day cruise returns to Puerto Rico.

Chairman of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. Shelly Williams says it’s one of several smaller vessels expected to visit Barbados for the summer period.
