The path has been cleared for the UN International Organisation for Migration to establish a country and Caribbean office here in Barbados.
On Friday, Foreign Affairs Minister, Kerrie Symmonds and the IOM’s Regional Director, Michele Klein Solomon, signed the deal at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Minister Symmonds welcomed the presence of yet another UN organisation in the country.
Meanwhile, IOM’s Regional Director spoke to the constitution of the office and its priorities.
