As the global community prepares to mark the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women and adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, Barbados says there are movements globally seeking to reverse some of the progress.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley says those talks achieved a lot for women globally.
As she welcomed Communist Party of China member, Madame Huang Xiaowei to the island, Prime Minister Mottley said her visit provides an opportunity to discuss how Barbados yet again can have a strong presence at the 2025 talks.
She said the partnership with the Barbados Labour Party and the Communist Party is critical.
Speaking through an interpreter, Madame Huang Xiaowei, who is on her first visit to the island, says it is to deepen party to party exchanges and cooperation.
