Barbados’ vaccination numbers are still lagging behind the daily average needed to achieve the desired target of 10,000 a week.
This revelation from Co-coordinator of the National Vaccination Programme, Major David Clarke.
During a national address last week, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley made a call for an additional 50,000 Barbadians to be vaccinated in the next five weeks.
However, Major Clarke says the numbers need to rise to achieve this.
Major Clarke also revealed discussions are taking place to determine what steps will be taken with vaccines nearing their expiration dates.
